Hingoli located in the western part of India is a district in the state of Maharashtra. The headquarters of the district is situated at Hingoli. The district forms a portion of the Aurangabad division.

The area that the district covers is four thousand five hundred and twenty-six square kilometers. The Lok Sabha constituency of the district is located at Hingoli. Hingoli has some beautiful tourist spots and those are very famous throughout the world.

Initially, Marathwada was under the regime of the Nizam. In earlier days, the district was the taluka place of Parbhani district and was a portion of the territory of Nizam. In fact, it was the military base of the Nizam. During that period veterinary hospital, hospitals, military troops were operated from the district. Two major wars took place in the district, one of which was in the year 1803 between the Maratha and Tipu Sultan.

The other war took place in the year 1857 between Bhosale and Nagpurkar. As the district, during that time, was the military base, it was one of the most important regions of the state of Hyderabad. In the year 1960, the region Hingoli became a portion of the state of Maharashtra and converted to a district in the year 1999.
