Located in western region of MP, Rajgarh district is well-known in MP for bordering with neighboring Rajasthan state, so do the MP districts Shajapur, Sehore and Bhopal share their borders with this old district. The district, with the geographical area of 6154 sq.km, had total recorded population of 992315 (according to 2001 census). Its proximity to the state capital Bhopal at 145 kilometers proves beneficial for it on many respects.
