Northwest region of Madhya Pradesh especially Chambal area accommodates culturally enriched Bhind district. It borders with Agra, Etawah, Jalaun and Jhansi districts of neighboring Uttar Pradesh in north and east and Datia and Gwalior districts of Madhya Pradesh in south and southwest respectively whereas the west is surrounded by Morena. The total area of this district is 4,459 km². Known in the region for its fertile soil, Bhind sees renowned rivers passing through it. Some of these rivers include:

The district is divided into seven tehsils Bhind, Ater, Mehgaon, Gohad, Lahar, Mihona and Raun. Bhind is an integral part of Chambal Division. It is believed that Bhind was named after Bhindi Rishi who was mythological Hindu saint. Several religious sites here have turned it sacrosanct. The places include:
