Golden Chariot
The golden chariot train is one of the most thrilling and lavish option of travelling in south India for those who wanted to grasp the architectural and natural wealth. The pride of south covers the destinations of Karnataka as, kabini, Bangalore, Mysore, bandipur, hampi, Hassan, and badami and the splendor of south covers the temple towns of Tamilnadu and lagoons of Kerala along with some destinations in Karnataka. The interior portion of the train is equipped with all existing and customary ornamentation along with all modern comforts.
The compartment of this train is covered with attractive and fascinating style. The antique furniture shows its cultural philosophy of former dynasties of south India. The coaches of the train have been named after the former princely states of south India as Hoysala, kadamba, chalukya, rashtrakuta, Ganga, Adilshahi, Bahmani, satvahanas, sangama, vilaynagar and yudukula.
There are 17 cabins of double bed, 26 cabins of twin beds along with the saperate one cabin for the people who are physically challenged. All the cabins of this train are equipped with air conditioning, LCD TV, Wi-Fi internet and a private bathroom which provide comforts to the people. Some other facilities provided on board are lounge bar, gymnasium, business center, two richly designed restaurants and a spa. A collection of foodie delicacies are served in the restaurants whose decoration described by a Sanskrit word Nala and Ruchi respectively.’ Madira’ is the name of lounge bar where people can interact with their co-travelers with a glass of wine.
But this is not the end of the facilities of golden chariot there is a gym and an ayurvedic spa named as ‘Nirvana’ permit guest to follow their fitness routine even during their vacation. The business center inside the train is for those who do not get time for holidays from their busy business schedule.

Terms and Conditions
- The total tariff of the train consists of onboard accommodation, food facility, sightseeing facility trips, The fees for entrance in monuments, sightseeing areas, palaces etc are also included in the tariff.
- Half fare for children between 5 and 12 years.
- During the time of Christmas as well as the New Year, considering them as peak holidays the passengers has to pay extra 10% surcharge over the journey tariff of this train.
- According to the rules of the Indian Government 3.09% service tax is also being imposed over the basic tariff.
- It does not comprise of tips, phone calls, and camera fees in the sightseeing locations, SPA car and Business car facilities, liquor as well as laundry.
Reservation and Cancellation Policy
The reservation and its cancellation guidelines as declared in the golden chariot tariff are as under:
For Reservation
- During the time of booking of the ticket for this train one have to pay only 20% amount of the total tariff and the remaining 80% amount he has to pay one month before the date of journey.
For cancelation
- Out of the total tariff 20% amount is to be deducted in case the cancellation is being done during 59 days prior to departure or 30 days before departure.
- Out of the total tariff 5% amount is to be deducted in case the cancellation is being done before 60 days of the date of journey.
- Out of the total tariff 100% amount is to be deducted in case the cancellation is being done before 14 days of the date of journey.
- Out of the total tariff 50% amount of total tariff is to be deducted in case the cancellation is being done 29 to 15 days before the date of journey.
In case any person is unable to reach the train on the date of journey than in that case the total amount of the tariff is being forfeited by the railways.
