Fairy Queen
As the oldest train, Fairy Queen links New Delhi and NCR Alwar to all over the India. This train was manufactured in 1855 and the name of this train comes under the list of Guinness Book of Records as the oldest train ever. This train later on turned into deluxe train in the 2004 to enhance the tourism of India. This is the most luxurious train of the India and also resembles with the Palace on Wheels.
This train was constructed in Leeds in England in the 1855. This train was named as Fairy Queen in Calcutta, India. The locomotive was named as No. 22 and this was purchased by the railways of East India Company. Initially, the train covers the distance among Raniganj and Howrah of Calcutta. After that, it also moved in Bihar till the year 1909. This train gives its service at the Howrah railway station for about 34 years in Calcutta. After that in year 1943, this train was then used for training in the Chandausi’s railway training school. This train was studied by the students and after that in the year 1972 it becomes the national treasure by the government of India. After that, this train was kept at Delhi’s national rail museum.
After the commendable response of the Palace on Wheels, the train Fairy Queen came into existence with a new look after the 88 years as a commercial use. In the NCR and New Delhi, this train runs for 2 days and also runs in Alwar’s Sariska Tiger Reserve that attracted the tourists. For night stay at hotel of Sariska Palace, the Fairy Queen basically costs about Rs 7500 for adults and Rs 3750 for the children.
For the former East India Railways, in the year 1855, this rolled this. This Fairy Queen again started to run as a luxurious train dated on 1st February 1997 linking the Delhi and NCR Alwar. As because of the one of the oldest train, this train has steam engine and still it runs on same engine. The name of this train comes under the list of Guinness Book of World Record and also this train got the award of National Tourism. After the resting period at National museum of railways, this train again came into existence.
This train also escorted the guests to the Sariska Tiger Reserve and moved from Delhi to the Alwar town, Rajasthan. The package of this is of 2 days that includes wildlife watching and escorts of the guest to the Tiger reserve, old lake view, and Siliserh. During the last day stay, there is enjoyment of folk music and dance also in Rajasthan.

Facilities
There are just 2 coaches in the Fairy Queen. One coach is fully designed as air condition in which there were about 50 seats on which the passengers enjoys the journey from Delhi to Alwar and return back. For catering purpose, there is a pantry car available. Just on the passenger coach front, there is a lounge present. This train has a large window that shows the amazing frontal view to the passengers on the way to Alwar.
Tour Itinerary
Fairy Queen itinerary has memorable journey period of one night/two days. This journey includes wildlife sanctuary of Sariska and the remarkable view of the Alwar city.
Day One
This train travels in the months of October to March from Delhi cantonment station at the timings of 10 a.m. and days includes 2nd and 4th Saturday of the week. From the Delhi to Alwar, this train takes about 6 hours that includes the memorable journey, which a passenger can capture into the camera. Catering department served with lunch and refreshment on the passenger’s seats. After the arrival on the station of railway, the passengers were escorted to the Sariska lodge by this train for the night stay. At the time of evening, passengers are entertained with the cultural program at the hotel of Sariska.
Day Two
Next day, the passengers leave for the Sariska tiger reserve in an open jeep. Then on return, they will get the breakfast. At the 12 noon, the passengers are taken back to the Alwar station and get the lunch and refreshment in the Fairy Queen. The tour ends at the 7 p.m. at destination Delhi.

Delhi
The Fairy Queen journey starts from Delhi, a capital and famous for Mughal architecture. In Delhi, there are lots of famous places to see like Connought Place, Red fort, Chandni Chowk, and more. This train starts its journey from the Delhi cantonment station surpassing the various places like pubs, Discos, Akshardham, and Lotus temple.
Alwar
As because of the culture of Rajasthan, there is lot to be seen in the Alwar city. The people of Alwar welcome the passengers of the train by tilaks and garlands wearing traditional dresses. After that, the passengers were moved to the Siliserh lake palace to enjoy the traditional dance named Kalbelia. There are lot of varieties of traditional and folk dances like snake dance, folk drama, puppet show, and Terah thali that passengers can enjoy during their visit.
The passengers of the train were also welcomed by the staff of the Sariska Tiger reserve. They welcomed the passengers by singing the famous song “ Padharo Mhare Desh” that entertained the tourists. All the programs were managed by the Hotel Sariska Palace, which is also a luxurious heritage hotel.

Important
- 2.58% extra tax for Government service.
- Holiday surcharge of 10% for New Year and Christmas Eve.
- Rate for children below 12 years of age is fifty percent of the rate of adults’ ticket.
Booking Procedure
- The booking amount is 25% of the total amount as per the nationality of the passenger.
- 60 days prior to the journey booking amount is 25% of the total amount.
- 50% balance is to be paid 40 days before the journey.
Cancellation Rules
- It is advised to go for written cancellation.
- The money is refunded after cancellation with small deduction in the amount.
- Before departure, if the cancellation request is received in more of 60 days, then total tariff will be 25%.
- If the cancellation request received in days limit of 40 to 60 before the departure, then total tariff will be 50%.
- If the cancellation request received below the time of 40 days before the departure, then total tariff will be 100%.
- If there is any dispute to the jurisdiction subject, then this will be held in New Delhi court only.
- There will be minimum passengers that were operated by the Fairy queen train.
