Uttar Pradesh Bhadi Tal
Bhadi Tal is considered to be a major tourist attractions which is located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand.
The lake is some 4,000 feet and is dotted with many oak and pine forests. It is a place brimming with pristine and divine beauty. When you are in this lake you will come face to face with nature. Here serenity has been merged with the fresh and green fauna, crystal clear blue water and the chirping of the birds.
The lake is home to many visiting birds’, butterflies, insects and moths, all of which can be seen in the area. You will also be able to spot many mammals in this area, but most of them are protected due to illegal poaching. You will also be able to find many rare which include ferns, creepers, medicinal herbs and orchids.

With its unique biodiversity the lake offers its visitors with bird-watching. It has many natural as well as migratory birds and butterflies. You should laze on a hammock, with a pair of binoculars in hand so that you are able to spot the most exotic bird species in this area.
Butterfly Museum: This museum can be found in Jones Estate. It is one of the major tourist attractions of Sat Tal. It has over 2,500 species of butterflies and 1100 species of insects that are native to the Kumaoni region. It is a museum which was built by Federic Smetacek.
Methodist Ashram: It is an ashram which was built by Stanley Jones in the year 1930. He was a friend of Mahatma Gandhi. The ashram can be found at the point of entry from the Sat Tal banks. It is because it’s fine colonial architecture which makes the ashram to be a popular destination. You can also visit the famous ‘St. John’s Church’ which is found within the premises of the ashram.
Subhash Dhara: When in Sat Tal you must visit Subhash Dhara which is an awesome freshwater spring originating from the thickly populated forests of the lake towards the western region. Being a natural spring it will leave you spell bound because of its beautiful location.
The lake is a paradise for adventure as you can enjoy lots of activities such as camping, trekking, boating, and mountain biking. You can also take part in rafting and rock climbing which are also popular amongst the tourist visiting the region.

The best time to visit the lake is in the summer months of April, May and June which have a pleasant climate, making it an ideal getaway for the people.
How To Reach
In order to reach the lake you will find that it is within a comfortable driving distance of 6 hours non-stop and is about 320 kilometers from Delhi. You will also find that the roads are very motorabale after the improvements of the National Highway up to Moradabad. You can also reach the lake by air as the nearest air base to Sattal is the Pantnagar Airport. If you are coming by rail then the nearest railhead is located in Kathgodam.
