Madhya Pradesh Lower Lake Bhopal
The Lower Lake is also known as the Chhota Talaab. It is a beautiful lake and a remainder of the Mughal empire located in the beautiful environs edged by the grandiose hills. There is an upper lake also that is separated by the lower lake by an over bridge. Both the lakes together form the Bhoj Water land. It is because of presence of these stately lakes, that the city of Bhopal is popularly known as the city of lakes. But the human settlement all around the lake has affected the beauty of this lake.
History
In the year 1794, the lake was constructed under the commission of Chote Khan, who was a minister of Nawab Hayat Muhammad Khan Bahadur. The lake was built to beautify the city. There ere many wells that were merged to construct this lake. Pul Pukhta is the bridge that separates the lower lake from the Upper lake. In literature the lower lake has been mentioned as the "Pukhta-Pul Talao".
Attractions
The lower lake and the Upper Lake are built in a Terrace manner. The two lakes are separated by an earthen dam. An over bridge called Pul Pukhta separates the lower lake from the Upper lake. The imposing lakes are built in a manner such that the highest level of the lower lake is just below the lowest level of the Upper Lake. The view of the lower lake is very artistic and appealing to the tourists as it is edged by the beautiful Kamala Garden. One can have the cherishing trips of the lake by boats. Sail, Motor boats as well as the paddle boats are provided by the tourism board club of Madhya Pradesh.
All local transport modes like buses and auto rickshaws provide access to the site of Lower Lake.

By Rail

By Air
The Raja Bhoj Airport, is the airport at Bhopal that is located at a distance of 15 kilometers from the heart of the city. One take take the taxis and cabs from the airport to reach the city. The airport also operates international flights to the gulf countries like Sharjah and Dubai.
By Road
Private as well as public bus services are available to reach Bhopal. The city is connected to all the cities in the state by bus service and also to the nearby states. One can also get deluxe buses to Bhopal from Gwalior, Delhi and Jabalpur. These buses usually run overnight and charge around 3-4 Rs per kilometer.
