Karnataka Kukkarahalli Lake
Kukkarahalli lake forms a part of Mysore city, Karnataka. It was in the year 1864 that the lake was created so that proper irrigation facilities could be provided to the local people. Apart from its water being used for irrigation, it is also employed for drinking purposes. About 10000 acres of land could be irrigated with the water supply of Kukkarahalli lake. For many years the condition of Kukkarahalli lake has deteriorated with lots of sewage and other stuff being collected around the lake. This has made the water impure and not fit for drinking.
