Himachal Pradesh Pandoh Lake
Located close to the Mandi district, Pandoh Dam’s reservoir created Pandoh Lake. This Pandoh Lake is the dam’s reservoir that was established to generate hydroelectric generation. The water is diverted from River Beas into the lake and then it pours into another river, namely, River Satluj. The dam is managed by Bhakra Beas Management Board and a part of National Highway 21 is the road built over this dam. Beas River is diverted to Salapad that is located about 40 kms away. Here, water is used for power generation along the Satluj water.
Pandoh Lake is located at an altitude of 1,360 m high. The deep blue water of this lake offers a mesmerising sight to behold. This dam is located on National Highway 21 on the Mandi-Kullu road at about 25 kilometres away from Mandi. This narrow and long lake came into existence as a result of Pandoh Dam. This dam was built across Beas River. Several water based activities are also conducted here.

This dam is located at a height of 76 m, and it is filled with earth cum rock. This dam is a part of Bhakra Beas Management Board. When travelling from Kullu to Manali, travellers can enjoy wonderful glimpses of this magnificent place.
How to Reach
Reaching Pandoh Lake is not difficult as many modes of transport are available that plies their services to this destination. If using railway services to his place, the enarest railway station is Jogindernagar. This is located at a distance of about 125 kms from Kullu. Various other cities are also linked with this place through Kullu railway station. Bhuntar Airport is the closest airport that can be used to reach this picturesque destination. The connectivity is low through air services but still, one can reach a resonable distance using this mode. Many state owned coaches and buses also ply their services to this destination. Via Kullu, many destinations are connected through this destination.
