Andhra Pradesh Saroornagar Lake
Saroornagar Lake is a manmade lake which flows in south Indian city of Hyderabad and in Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. This lake flows and covers an area of approximately 180 acres. The maximum depth of this Saroornagar Lake is 21 feet or 6.1 meters. Moreover this beautiful lake is considered as one of the chief water bodies from five other water bodies in Hyderabad. Also it is found that with an immense growth in population of Hyderabad they have made this manmade lake as a cesspool for their domestic garbage and sewage. Eve this artificial Lake Saroornagar is considered as one of the largest water bodies in the twin cities after Hussainsagar. This Lake was more established in olden times in order to fulfill the faming and drinking needs of the citizens and region.
History
In year of 1626 the lake of Saroornagar was developed for solving the issue of drinking water crisis. Also this lake was created in order to solve the problem of agricultural and irrigational needs of the nearby citizens living in this area. During the reign of Quli Qutub Shah this Saroornagar Lake was developed. Also in late 16 century this Lake was created or this Lake is 400 years old and spread an area of about one square kilometer. After Independence and also with an increase rate of population this Lake farm land later on converted into more residential area. Recently it is found that HUDA has took over the responsibility of this lake and has therefore implemented several plan in order to beautify it and make it more enhanced along with its surroundings. Also after the restoration of this intriguing Lake many migratory birds returned and made it a nature diversity land.
