Gajar Ka Halwa
Brief Description
Gajar Ka Halwa is commonly known as gajrala. Gajar Ka Halwa is a traditional Punjabi dessert. Gajar Ka Halwa preparation requires carrots and milk as its main ingredients. Gajar Halwa recipe can be eaten in any ways either warm or cold. Since Gajar Ka Halwa Preparation can work well either with dry fruits or not. It totally depends upon ones taste.
Preparation Time 15 mins Cooking Time 30 mins Serves 4 Ingredients for Fruit Kheer
- Carrots-1 kg
- Milk-1 litre
- Cardamom Seeds -1 teaspoon
- Water -3/4 cup
- Ghee-3 tablespoons
- Raisins-1 to 2 tablespoons
- Almonds-1 to 2 tablespoons
- Pistachios-1 to 2 tablespoons
- Sugar –half kg
How to make Gajar Ka Halwa
- Grate the carrots.
- Put some raisins in water for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Now chop the nuts.
- Put the water to boil, as soon as it starts boiling add the carrots to it. Cook for about 10 minutes.
- Now add milk to the carrots. Cook it for about an hour while stirring occasionally.
- Now add sugar to the mixture and cook it well till the whole milk get disappeared.
- Then, add ghee, crushed cardamoms and the raisins. Mix well.
- Gajar ka halwa is ready to be served. Serve it with garnishing of almonds and pistachios.
