Fish Potato
Brief Description
Fish Potato is a very easy and tasty dish. It is one of the spicy dishes. Fish Potato is a nice appetizer or a kind of savoury snack.
Preparation Time 15 minutes Cooking Time 15 minutes Serves 4 Ingredients For Fish Potato
- Peeled and chopped potatoes ( golden and delight) – 800 gm
- Milk - 3 cups
- Butter – 80 gm
- Finely chopped small onions - 1
- Crushed cloves of garlic - 2
- Plain flour - 1/3 cup
- White fish fillets – 500 gm ( pieces of 2 cm cubes)
- Drained and rinsed corn kernels – can of 125 gm
- Horse radish cream - 3 tsp
- Finely chopped fresh parsley flat leaf - 1/4 cup
How To Make Fish Potato
- Take a sauce pan, add water and little bit of salt into the sauce pan. Add potato into the sauce pan and let them boil.
- As potato becomes tender drain out them from the sauce pan. ‘
- Now add milk of about 1/2 cup into the sauce pan and also add boiled potatoes into it.
- Mash the potatoes properly, cover the sauce pan with the lid and keep aside for some time.
- Now preheat the oven at a 180°C. Melt a spoon of butter in a large skillet over a medium flame. Add garlic and onions to it. Stir it well and then cook till onion becomes tender.
- Add corn flour to the skillet. Mix it properly and let it sauté for about 2 mins. Make sure that the mixture starts getting thicken.
- Now add left over milk, mix it continuously till mixture gets thicken.
- Take out the skillet from the flame. Add horse radish cream, corn, and fish into it. Sprinkle some pepper and salt over it.
- Now put fish mixture into the ovenproof dish capacity of 8 cup. Apply a topping of mashed potato. Sprinkle pepper over it.
- Allow it to bake for about 30 mins or till potato becomes golden in color.
- Apply a topping of parsley and serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
Some Useful Tips
- In the fish pie use ling, blue eye, or perch.
- Allow pie to cool for about 10-15 mins as filling of the pie could be very hot.
