Murgh Do Pyzaza
Brief Description
Murgh Do Pyaaza is a sweet-n-spicy chicken recipe where chicken is cooked in an abundance of onions. Make this recipe at home in a simple and easy manner by following this recipe.
Preparation Time 25 mins Cooking Time 30 mins Serves 4 Ingredients for Murgh Do Pyzaza
- Chicken-1
- Salt to taste
- Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
- Ghee- 3/4th cup
- Chopped onions, large- 4
- Crushed garlic- 2
- Curd- 2 cups
- Water- 1/4th cup
Spices
- Cloves- 6
- Black cardamom- 1
- Black peppercorns-12
- Cinnamon stick- 1
- Ginger ground- ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
- Red chili powder- 1 tsp
Garnish
- Garam masala powder- 1 tsp
- Peeled and halved tomatoes- 225g
- Chopped and fried onion, medium- 1
How to make Murgh Do Pyzaza
- Take the chicken and rub lemon juice mixed with oil. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
- Take a deep skillet and heat up some oil in it and drop in first four spices. Put in the chicken, garlic, onion and remaining spices.
- Cook for 15 minutes while continuously stirring.
- Add the curd / yogurt and stir for 5 minutes over a low heat. Add the water, cover and simmer for 40-50 minutes, or until the chicken is tender. Drop in the curd and stir it on the low flames for 5 minutes. Pour in the water and let it simmer for 40-0 minutes on low heat.
- Sprinkle the top with garam masala powder, arrange the tomatoes around the dish and cover with the onion. Sprinkle the dish with garam masala on top. Garnish with chopped up tomatoes and onions.
- Serve as it is or bake in oven for 10 minute before serving.

Some Useful Tips
- To make sure your homemade chili, garlic and ginger paste stays fresh for long add a tbsp of hot vegetable/ sunflower/ canola oil into it and mix well. Keep them in refrigerator and use when necessary.
