Murgh Cholay
Brief Description
Murgh cholay is very tasty and flavorsome recipe from Pakistan. In this chicken is prepared with lot of spices and chickpeas. Learn how to prepare this recipe by following these steps.
Preparation Time 15 mins Cooking Time 30 mins Serves 4 Ingredients for Murgh Cholay
- 1 chicken cut into small pieces
- 2 sliced onions
- 2 cups boiled chick peas.
- 1 tsp ginger- garlic paste
- ½ cup oil for frying
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup curd
- 2 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tsp all spice powder
- Chopped green chilies
- 2 cloves
- 2 green cardamoms
- 5 black peppers
- 1 stick cinnamon
- ½ bunch of coriander leaves
- Sliced ginger
How to make Murgh Cholay
- Fry onions in hot oil and remove when brow. Crush them and mix well with curd.
- Put in all the spices into the oil and fry and then add curd- onion mixture.
- Drop in the chicken pieces and cook till chicken is tender.
- Add the boiled cholay into the pan and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Put in the green chilies, chopped coriander, all spice powder and ginger.
- Serve hot.

Some Useful Tips
- To make sure your homemade chili, garlic and ginger paste stays fresh for long add a tbsp of hot vegetable/ sunflower/ canola oil into it and mix well. Keep them in refrigerator and use when necessary.
