State Bank Of Bikaner And Jaipur
An associate bank of the State Bank of India, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur was founded in 1963. Its foundation was an attempt by Indian government to offer best banking solution to the Indians through this bank.
Two banks of that time were merged together to establish State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur. One of the banks State Bank of Bikaner was incepted in 1944 whereas State Bank of Jaipur had come into existence in 1943. Both banks were merged to form State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur to work as associate bank of State Bank of India.
State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur took over Govind Bank of Mathura on April 25, 1966. Right now this bank has national presence with more than 848 branches in Rajasthan and other regions.
A major step of State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur was in 1984 when it sponsored and founded a regional rural bank Ganganagar Kshetriya Gramin Bank. Second similar attempt was establishing Bikaner Kshetriya Gramin Bank in 1985. Marwar Gramin Bank is third regional rural bank established by it.
State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur merged all three regional rural banks it had opened over the period to make them single bank named MGB Gramin Bank on June 12, 2006 to ensure its operation goes more effective.
