Shinhan Bank
Headquartered in its big city Seoul in Korea the present day Shinhan Bank is a first Korean banking entity in the country. It was during the period of 1897 that this bank had been established in the country as Hanseong Bank by late Kim Jong-Han.
The reestablishment process of this bank in the year 1982 was completed with its new and present name Shinhan Bank which also marked a new revolution for this bank to operate in the country. At present its operation is on the large scale in Korea.
Korea’s Shinhan Financial Group and the Jeju Bank are the backbones and key supporters of Shinhan Bank. The bank is an integral part of its parent groups and keeps flourishing each day. It was on April 01, 2006 that Shinhan Bank completed the merging process with the Chohung Bank of Korea to enhance its banking operations further.
While being reestablished in the year 1982, Shinhan Bank had the little capital of KRW 25.0 billion only. Its journey had begun with the three branches being served by 279 employees only at that time.
The bank has grown faster over the decades and its present assets are KRW 176.9 trillion, with equity capital KRW 9.7 trillion and 10,741 employees serving its 1,026 branches spread in Korea to turn its banking group in the country.
