Haunted Places In India
Haunted places are those which are gossiped to be paranormal and where ghosts used to come often, particularly during night times. These are normally old palaces and forts, where some unnatural deaths would have occurred or rumored to be so.
Interestingly, some of the famous hotels are also listed in haunted places in India, as there were incidents of suicides committed in those venues, some hotels keeping such rooms always unoccupied since Guests do hesitate staying in those rooms.

- The ancient town Bhangarh in Rajasthan is a deserted location because it is believed to be a haunted place, which was raised by King Madho Singh in 1613 now rumored tobe cursed by a magician to become a place of devastation.
- Next place in Rajasthan is Brij Raj Bhavan Palace in Kota. This 178 year old edifice is now considered a haunted place because one Major Burton and two of his sons were killed here during 1957 Sepoys mutiny.
- Although very beautiful and scenic, the Dumas Beach in Gujarat is known to be a haunted place as it was a place to cremate dead bodies. People believe that all spirits of dead people do visit this beach during night times.
- Dow Hill, Kurseong, West Bengal is considered a haunted place because people say that there were number of murders occurred in this Hill.
- The popular D`Souza Chawl of Mahim, Mumbai is said to be haunted because many people claim that the ghost of a woman who got drowned in a well here comes up in nights.
- At Thane, the Vrindavan Society buildings are gossiped to host evil spirits because a man had committed suicide here and the guards report that they were slapped by the Ghosts on some nights.
- Shaniwarwada Fort at Pune is said to be haunted because the ghost of a thirteen year old Prince who was mercilessly killed here come to the fort often at nights.
- Rumors go round Delhi that Delhi Cantonment area is a haunted place because people have noticed a lady wearing white sari appears here often asking for lift in the Car and when refused she runs with the car with such a speed even overtaking the car.
- Meerut’s GP block is considered another haunted place because people report seeing some lads drinking beer inside the house and girls wearing red saris coming out of the house in odd hours and when one makes a serious search no body is found there.
- The Lambi Dehar Mines in the outskirts of Mussoorie is gossiped to be haunted by a witch because about fifty thousand mine workers had died here due to accidents in 1990s.
- Agrasen ki Baoli in Delhi, a 14th century edifice constructed by Maharajah Agrasen, is a haunted place today because in those days Maharajah used this place to cause death to criminals by filling black waters in this fort.
- Jamali-Kamali Masjid inDelhi located at Mehrauli Archaeological Complex is a place believed to host the spirits of Sufi Saints who were buried here, now appearing in nights frightening people.
- Shimla’s Tunnel no 33 is another haunted place in India, with a number of horror stories going around this location with incidents associated with Colonel Barog, a British Railway Engineer.
- Lothian Cemetery of Delhi is a 200 year old location which is gossiped to have paranormal activities, with a headless ghost of a British Soldier Sir Nicholas wandering here.
- Feroz Shah Kotla of Delhi is another haunted place because it is gossiped that a number of suicides have happened here.
