Valsad is one of the twenty six districts in the serene state of Gujarat. The administration of the district is controlled by the capital city of Valsad. It is said that Vasuki has developed this district as his home town. Valsad is also the home of the famous Marathi play writer, Bhulabhai Desai. The district covers an area of five thousand two hundred forty four square kilometres.

The district is said to be the entrance point of the Parsees in the country of India. The Parsee communities entered through the Port of Sanjan on Valsad District and thereafter spread all accords the country. Mount Pamera, located in this district was the fort of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Valsad produces the highest quantity of mango and it is the second highest producer of Cucurbits in the state. Other horticulture crops like chikoo, banana and sugarcane are cultivated in this district.This district is mainly inhabited by the Gujratis and the Marwari communities.
