Malpua
Brief Description
Malpua is a type of Indian pancakes which is sweet to taste. It is prepared in many Indian states during Holi and is also served as one of the Chappan Bhog to Lord Jagannath. Follow the recipe given below to learn how to make this recipe.
Preparation Time 15 mins Cooking Time 30 mins Number Of Serves 4 Ingredients for Malpua
- Whole wheat flour- 1 cup
- Fennel seeds-1 tbsp
- Crushed peppercorns- 10,
- Beaten curd-1/4 cup
- Milk-1/2 cup
Other Ingredients
- For deep frying- ghee
For The Garnish
- Chopped pistachio- 2 tsp
How To Make Malpua
- Take all the ingredients for malpua in a bowl and mix together with 1 and a half cup of water. Make a smooth batter and set it aside for at least 45 minutes.
- Take a wok and heat ghee in it.
- Take a spoonful of the batter and pour it in hot ghee. Deep fry till golden brown and take out. Use paper towels to absorb excess ghee.
- Repeat this procedure to make more malpuas.
- Garnish with pistachios and serve hot.
Some Useful Tips
- You can also add 2 tbsp of semolina to the flour for better texture.
