Haleem
Brief Description
Haleem is a special recipe which is very famous in Hyderabad. Learn how to make this rich high calorie but nutritious recipe at home in a simple and easy manner by following the procedure provided below.
Preparation Time 15 mins Cooking Time 30 mins Number Of Serves 4 Ingredients for Haleem
- Wheat- 200 gm
- Boneless Mutton- 300 gm
- Cooking oil- 100 ml
- sliced Onions- 3
- Lime- 2
- Garam Masala- 2 tsp
- Salt as needed
For Paste
- Fresh Green Chillies- 4-5
- Ginger- 2 inch piece
- Garlic flakes- 6-8
How to Make Haleem
- Keep the wheat soaked in water for 2 hours.
- Wash and clean the mutton. Use paste made up of garlic, ginger, green chilies and salt to marinate the meat.
- Use a pressure cooker to cook soaked wheat and mutton. Cook for 45 minutes.
- Take it all out and grind it to minced form.
- Add sliced onions and fry till it turns golden brown. Add garam masala.
- Add the ground paste and keep stirring on slow flame, till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Add the minced meat mixture and keep cooking at low heat till the time when mixture starts leaving the fat.
- Take it off the flames and take it out in serving dish.Use lime wedges to garnish and serve hot.
