Mihidana
Brief Description
Mihidana is one of the most famous sweet treat of Bardhaman district, West Bengal, India. Mihidana is made up with besan mixed or gram flour, ghee and water. The term literally means “fine grains” in Bengali; it is prepared of fine long sweet cooked flour that can be decorate with raisins or prunes and finely chopped dried fruits as per your taste. Mihidana is essential or cardinal sweet treat in India and West Bengal has got a patent for making this sweet.
Preparation Time Minutes – 10 Time to cook Minutes – 45 Serves Pieces - 4 Ingredients For Mihidana
- 1 tsp - Saffron
- 175 gms - Rabri
- 10 gms - Almond
- 150 gms - Besan
- 10 gms - Pista
- 5 gms - Elaichi powder
- 1 kg - Ghee
- 1 kg - Sugar
- Water
How to make Mihidana
- In a bowl, add the besan and water and blend it properly till the semi-thick paste.
- To make the mihidana, put the ghee in a pan at the medium heat and mix the besan batter in a pan through holed spoon.
- Now take them out mihidana from the pan and dip it into the sugar syrup which is made by boiling sugar and water together. Keep aside for few minutes.
- Now adding the elaichi powder and half of saffron threads. Mix pista and almonds. Knead well.
- Transfer it into the baking bowl and use rabri to top it. Garnished with almond, pista, saffron strands on top. Keep it bake for few 4-5 minutes.
