Bonde
Brief Description
Boondi is an Indian snack food made from sweetened, fried chickpea flour. A savory version of Boondi called Khara or Tikha. First you need a special boondi spoon for making Boondi which is easily available in India. The slotted spoon size plays a vital role in forming the size of Boondi. The next important ingredient is Gram Flour to make Boondi. You can make raita, chaat, laddu, home-made namkeen and even gravy using Boondi etc.
Ingredients for Boondi:-
- Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Almonds (chopped) - 6-8
- Gram Flour (besan) - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 Sugar
- Water - 1 cup
- Ghee or Refined oil - to deep fry
How to Make Sweet Boondi:
- First take the sugar in a broad vessel, boil sugar with water just to immerse it. Boil sugar until it is fully dissolved and the sugar syrup becomes a little sticky, Switch of the stove and gather it.
- Take the vessel to gathering gram flour and mixing it well in the water. But keep it mind that it should not be too thin at the time of adding water.
- Ghee or refined oil heat for deep frying in a wide pan, clutch a slotted spoon a slight space above the pan and hold spoon to pour some batter.
- When batter will the drop into the pan in forming of small circular droplets. You can tap the edge of spoon slightly to permit droplet to fall in the pan.
- In the pan shrug the boondis with spoon and fry them till they changes in color.
- Then catch out them of the pan and empty out the excess oil.
- Now strained boondi’s to warm sugar syrup and mix well. Hold it for 3-4 minutes in the sugar syrup after that catch out them.
- Now take them out in a wide tray, add cardamom powder, almonds (chopped) and mix it completely.
- Keep it for cool completely and run your finger over the boondi until the each droplet becomes separate.
- Sweet Boondi is ready to eat. You can also store it in an airtight container for atleast 15 days.
