South West Delhi is a district in capital of India – Delhi region. On the north of South west Delhi lies west Delhi, Gurgaon of Haryana state in its south and a district called Jhajjar in its western region. The population of South west delhi is 1.5 lakh approximately. South West Delhi covers 420 km square of area.

The area can be said to be divided into the following major regions -

• Delhi Cantolment
• Nazafgarh
• Vasant Vihar
• RK Puram
• Naraina
• Sarojini Nagar

Delhi Cantt was originally established by British Indian Army. In the present scene too, Delhi Cantt has several establishments related to Indian Army like the Indian Army headquarters, Army golf course and military housing.

Najafgarh on the other hand is an area with its majority of population being rural population. It also has some urban population. It was named after Najaf Khan who was a noble in Mughal dynasty in 16th century of history. Najafgharh has almost 70 villages surrounding it and is a popular place for electoral purposes. Sai Baba of Shirdi is a temple visited by masses located in Najafgarh.

Vasant Kunj is a posh residential colony which has population of nearly 1 lakh. It is a work of Pandit Jwahar Lal Nehru who developed it by acquiring nearby farms. It is known for its expensive malls of DLF Emporio and Promenede.
