North Delhi is the home of renowned landmarks of Delhi. On the east of North Delhi lies Yamuna river, north west delhi to its north, central delhi to its south and north east delhi to its east. It spreads upto 60 km² of area and has been divided into three subdivisions namely Sadar Bazar, Kotwali and Civil Lines.
Based on 2001 census North Delhi has a population of 7.7 lakh , with a population density of 13,019 persons per km².

North Delhi is also famous for having the exquisite campuses of Delhi University and Guru Goind Singh Indraprastha University. Both the universities attract students from all parts of the world.
