Qazi Mian Muhammad Amjad
History
An age old Sufi saint in the Chisti order in South Asia and a person who did not want a Dargah after his demise, but an ordinary grave yard was Qazi Mian Muhammad Amjad. Undue belief and superstitious structures were disliked by him. He believed that Islam was corruption pruned due to Sufism, pantheism, theology and other unwanted beliefs. He belonged to Gadi’s family which is in vogue since 16th century and adapted to Faqr and Darway-meaning Spiritual poverty and Asceticism. Qazi Mian Muhammad Amjad belonged to Qadi’s family and was from Awan tribe of ancient days. Qazi was indeed known as Qazi Mian Muhammad Amjad al hashmi al alwi, al hanafi. He came in the way of the Al-Abbas ibn Ali and holds very many famous names in the list as successors. His initial studies were from Hanafi School of Law and became a disciple of Hazrat Shams ud Din Sialvi of Sial Sharif. From Khwaja Shams ud din Sialvi he got the Sufism rules and basic laws and the spiritual path very much attracted him.

Qazi Mian Muhammad Amjad got enlightened through spiritual perfection and came back to the world with high knowledge and spiritual feeling. During the period when Indian Criminal law replaced the Muslim laws, guidance on Fatwa was required for leading a successful day to day life by Muslims. It was at this time that Qazi Mian Muhammad Amjad came forward to preserve the Islamic Law and came in the form of Mujtahid. He had high knowledge of Hanafi School of Islamic Law which was the oldest and was consulted by several Muslims for legal opinions. Qazi’s fatwas and opinions were highly valued inthe society and thus have helped a common man in many ways more so when he helped the common Muslim during the period of distress, Poverty and helplessness. He had installed a Mosque in Naushera, and thus has played a great role in the safeguarding of Islam in the Soon Valley during testing times.
He was an authority on Wahdt al Wujud, Sufism and Muslim mysticism and The Meccan Illuminations (Al Futuhat al Makkaiyya which has around 37 volumes and is considered to be his master piece. He had connections with many famous Sufis and to name a few, Hazrat Shams-ud-Din Sialvi of Sial Sharif, Hazrat Khawaja Zia-ud-Din, Pir Meher Ali Shah, Pir Jalalpur Sharif and others. From his relatives and friends, he had got the library of Arabic manuscripts which were very rare collections. He was keen in adding further inputs into the library wherever he could find and his many books were in the form of manuscripts, which included many letters, notes, and decisions on religious issues.
How to Reach the Place
Naushehra is a town and also a Tehsil in Khushab District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan. It happens to be the main town of the Soon Valley and reaching this place from India should be through obtaining a Visa and Government permission. The nearest cities, towns and places to Naushera are Jhabran, LalMsunda, Randhir and Dogaij Kalan. Also, the other nearer cities are Faisalabad, Shekupura, Chiniot and Lahore. On reaching one of the major cities of Pakistan cited above, local conveyance can be taken to go to Naushera.
