The natural and geographical way of this river is just according to dams at various places in the entire flowing area through the state. Though, this river flows in rift valley but force of the waves are sufficient to generate the electricity through dams.
This dam has the height of 69 mtrs from ground level. Height includes the base of foundation stone. The length is provided 5.4 KM. A lake is also created at this dam to store water. This lake is spread in the area of 337.5 sqkm. When danger level of water in this dam reaches upto the mark of 422.76m, the alarm is issued in nearby districts Jabalpur, Mandla and Seoni. Power plant located at this dam is of 90 MW capacities. Though the power generation was proposed to be 105 MW but due to technical and financial constraints, the productivity of the hydro electricity has been restricted upto 90 MW only. In this plant, there are 2 units of capacity of 45 MW each, have been installed. Visiting the power plant is permissible if written permission of the concerned authorities is sought before.
