Upper Solaiyar and also known as Upper Sholayar Dam has been situated 21 km (11 mi) through Valparai, a mountain place in Anaimalai Mountains as of Coimbatore region, Tamil Nadu Indian. Effect of the Project
Water in this Sholayar Dam and Upper Sholayar Dam and regarded as one of the most significant reservoirs and this is under Aliyar Parambikulam Project. This dam is having the storage capacity of more than 160 ft and in monsoon seasons it will be overflowing. This dam is mainly being utilized for the purpose of irrigation and provides water that can be utilized for the power generation.
