Holy Trinity Church Bolarum

Country India
Denomination Church of South India (Previously Anglican)
Dedication Holy Trinity
Diocese Diocese of Medak
Province Secunderabad

Holy Trinity Church is such a grand construction, which is run under the supervision of the Church belonging to South India. It is situated in the locality of Bolarum lying in Secunderbad. It is a type of Protestant Church, which was constructed in 1847 with the help of donation given by the Queen Victoria. The land was given by Nizam. Queen Victoria has built this church investing her money for the sake of higher officials of British for conducting prayers.

History

Queen Victoria funded the construction of Holy Trinity Church in the year of 1847. The land of this church was donated the Nizam belonging to Hyderabad. Earlier, it was an Anglican church and also a worshipping place for the army officers of British and several other Christian families belonging to India.

Architecture

Holy Trinity Church is an amazing structure of Gothic with numerous tower belfry and turrets. The altar of this church is a splendid stained glass window, which shows Jesus beholding the cross. The stained glass window dates back to the year of 1884 and is completely dedicated to the sweet memory of Edward Dawson. Apart from this at least sixteen tablets along the fences of the church explains the different officers of the British, who lived and later died at this place.

Lamps and antique pews fitted along with baptismal font are a few examples of the precious possessions of this church. Holy Trinity Church has also received Heritage award from Andhra Pradesh government.

Stained glass windows and frosty white spires exhibit the style of the architecture of the church, which makes it worth patronizing while taking a tour to its city, Hyderabad. Counted among the most pious churches lying in the Deccan region, many worshippers throng here for their obeisance to their deity every Sunday. Being situated at a very important venue lying in Secunderabad, this church is accessible from any corner of this town. Enchanting hordes of devotees, this institution remains open from 7 O’ clock in the morning till 8 O’ clock in the evening. It is believed that at least seven years were spent in the construction of this magnificent building in an aesthetic manner and pleasant atmosphere. An electric harmonium, which was played by the officials of British at the recitation of the prayers, is equally attractive at the present time also. As far as the dimension of this harmonium is concerned, it is 25 feet in length and 15 feet in width. Queen Elizabeth of British has lived in this church while taking her tour in the year 1983.
