The Papum Pare the principal region of Arunachal Pradesh is placed in the North–Eastern location of India Papum Pare is a terrain of abundant green forests, deep river valleys and stunning plateau. The terrain is mostly hilly with Himalayan array. Trees of enormous size, abundant of climbers, various kinds of orchids, cane and bamboos are seen in the region.

It is the dwelling of the lively Nishis those identified in the past for their velour. The Mikir, haven seeker from Assam, are also a major chunk of local inhabitants. The Nishis are origins of Indo-Mongoloid cluster and the language they use is Tibeto-Burman.

Papum Pare is an official region in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. The region control centre is situated at Yupia. The region holds an area of 2875 km². The head office of the state is positioned at Itanagar, that too is situated in Papum Pare. Kurung Kumey region borders Papum Pare region towards north, Papum Pare region towards the East, East Kameng District towards the west and Assam to its South.
