Spread across the geographical area of 4005 sq km, East Siang is the delight for people who love mountaineering areas and its beauty. Originating from Tibet, the name East Siang has come up from the mighty river Siang. This river flows down and meets the Lohiti River. The five circle headquarters of this district are Sille Oyan, Bilat, Koyu, Rebo-Perging, Riga, and New Seren.  Pasigha is the headquarters for East Siang and is located at 155m above sea level.

The population of East Siang forms the number 99,019 as per the census of India 2011. The male and female ratio in this district is not so wide. In comparison to 2001 census, children under the age of 0-6 years were 12,115. In a nutshell, the children population comprises 12.24% of the whole population of the district.

Summer, monsoon and winter are the three seasons that East Siang witnesses every year. The temperatures vary as per the seasons where summer being the hottest of weathers in the region.  In summer season the temperature ranges from 20-40 C whereas in winter season 5-12 C. it is said that the best time to visit East Siang is October to April.

Changlang , Upper Subansiri , Tirap , Lohit , Kurung Kumey are the cities that are nearest to East Siang and people visiting the district can explore these cities. This district is one of the administrative districts of Arunachal Pradesh.  The borders and edges of the district are shared by West Siang, Dibang Valley and Assam.  This district has been on the back foot historically. The district is not urbanized and industrial development is yet to take off.

The demographic features of the states show that the density of the district is 24 per sqkm that has been reduced abit since 2001. Even though the district is not urbanized but the literacy rate in the district is 73.54%. Males are much more literate and ahead than females in this district. The economy of this district runs heavily on the revenue from Agriculture. Occupation of the major chunk of population is Agriculture.
